The filter press uses a special filter medium to exert a certain pressure on the object to cause the liquid to dialyze out. It is a commonly used solid-liquid separation equipment.

First, determine the solid content of the sewage. Second, determine the amount of sewage produced every day and the working hours, and calculate the processing capacity required by the filter press. Finally, determine the volume and filtration area needed. Site size and functions should also be considered. Some filter presses have automated control systems for automatic cleaning and remote control, improving work efficiency and operational convenience.

The filter plate can break because of excessive feed pressure or excessive feed speed.

1. Pressure is too high during feeding — adjust feed pressure.
2. Feeding speed is too fast — reduce the feed rate.
3. Filter plate feed hole is blocked — clean the feed hole.
4. Filter cloth is damaged — replace the filter cloth.
5. Liquid outlet is clogged — clean it.

1. The filter plate is not cleaned during unloading and residual filter cake remains on the cover.
2. The cloth is damaged and cannot meet sealing requirements; replace it in time.
3. The oil-cylinder clamping pressure is insufficient or the feed pressure is too high; adjust both pressures.

1. Remove the filter cloth, soak it in water and gently brush debris from the surface.
2. Clean it with a high-pressure cleaning gun.
3. Use the automatic cleaning device dedicated to the filter press. This option costs more and depends on actual requirements.

The service life of filter cloth is generally three to six months. To extend its life, clean and dry it before long-term storage, keep it in a dry place and avoid folding. When the filter press is used frequently, replace damaged cloth promptly.
